In recent weeks, Barcelona have been very heavily linked with a summer move for Xavi Simons. The 21-year-old is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain before the start of next season, and a return to Catalonia – where he was a part of La Masia – appears to be a strong possibility.
Simons reportedly has no plans to remain at PSG for the 2024-25 campaign, and MD now say that he won’t be blocked from leaving. A permanent departure has been ruled out, but a loan will be allowed, and the Dutch playmaker will be able to choose where he plays his football.
JUST IN: PSG will not put obstacles to Xavi Simons' loan destination, including Barcelona. Barça are fully aware of this, and it all looks good. @RogerTorello

This is good news for Barcelona, as multiple reports have stated that Simons wants to return to the club. Xavi Hernandez sees him as a priority signing, and his arrival would significant boost his options in midfield and attack.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona can get a deal over the line during the summer transfer window. It would be a very shrewd piece of business, especially given their ongoing financial woes.
