Indianapolis Colts signed an undrafted free agent that the rest of the NFL forgot to draft

The Indianapolis Colts' 2024 undrafted free agent class is beginning to take shape.

The Colts weren't big spenders during this year's undrafted free agency market following the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, one player, in particular, stands out as the single best player signed, and to me, that is Kansas LB Craig Young

Young began his college career in 2019 at Ohio State, where he spent three seasons. He didn't have much production during his time as a Buckeye, recording only 24 total tackles and 0 sacks before transferring to Kansas for his final two seasons. There, his production saw a massive increase, as he recorded 101 total tackles and six sacks. His best season came in 2022 when he set his career highs with 60 total tackles and 4.5 sacks.

While his total athletic scores didn't quite reach the thresholds the Colts typically covet, a few of his numbers stand out. His 4.56 40-yard dash at his Pro Day is an elite time among LBs, along with his 37" vertical and 10'8" broad jump. I'm excited to see Young compete in rookie minicamp and potentially the Colts Training Camp this summer. I think he could be an intriguing option to compete for a depth LB spot as well as on special teams.

This signing is likely extra special for Young, who will return to Indiana to compete for a full-time job for his hometown team. Young grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended Wayne High School. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was ranked as the 11th-best player in Indiana.
