NBA All-Rookie Team announced
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA announced the 2023-2024 Kia NBA All-Rookie Team on May 20, 2024, headlined by San Antonio Spurs’ NBA Kia Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama and No. 1 seed in the West Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren.

Wembanymana and Holmgren were unanimously selected to the Kia NBA All-Rookie first team. They were joined by Miami Heat forward Jamie Jaquez Jr, Charlotte Hornets forward-guard Brandon Miller, and Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski.

Holmgren was the only first team, all-rookie selection, to reach the postseason, capturing the No. 1 seed in the West. However, they were eliminated on Saturday, May 18, in a 117-116 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, who took the series 4-2 and advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

Wembanyama finished No. 2 in the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, second to the four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year winner, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert. Wembanyama is a likely pick for the NBA All-Defensive team and, if selected, will join fellow San Antonio Hall of Fame centers Tim Duncan (1998) and David Robinson (1990).

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II, Houston Rockets guard-forward Amen Thompson, Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George, Oklahoma City guard Cason Wallace, and Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson II make up the Kia NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

The NBA All-Defensive Team will be announced on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
